Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC™)

Agile project management practices have become the standard for software development projects. More recently, Agile has grown beyond software projects as more and more companies adopt Agile concepts and methodologies.

The Scrum Product Owner represents the interests of the stakeholder community to the Scrum Team. The Scrum Product Owner is responsible for ensuring clear communication of product or service functionality requirements to the Scrum Team, defining Acceptance Criteria, and ensuring those criteria are met. The Scrum Product Owner must always maintain a dual view. He or she must understand and support the needs and interests of all stakeholders, while also understanding the needs and workings of the Scrum Team.

Our experience has proven that the Scrum Product Owner is the most overlooked, underestimated, and mis-understood role in Scrum. This is one of our most popular group classroom training courses. We recommend that this course be scheduled as early as possible in your Scrum adoption timeline.

Applicants will be awarded the globally recognized Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC™) certification upon successfully passing the certification exam.

Delivery Options: 2-Day Hands-on Classroom Workshop, Self-paced eLearning, or Online Workshop

Who Should Attend

The Scrum product owner is typically a project's or product development's key stakeholder. Part of the Scrum Product Owner responsibilities is to have a vision of what he or she wishes to build, and convey that vision to the scrum team. This is key to successfully starting any agile software development project. The Scrum Product Owner is the one person ultimately responsible for the return on investment (ROI) of the product development effort. The Scrum Product Owner influences the development effort by conveying his vision to the team(s) and prioritizing the Product Backlog. The Scrum Product Owner must have the authority to make real business decisions, vision about what the product could be, and availability to the team(s).

This certification is for anyone who interfaces with stakeholders or works as a Scrum Product Owner in a Scrum Team.
